On January 12, 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred 16 miles west of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. In an effort to aid emergency management efforts, members of LESAM participated in a damage assessment. By comparing pre– and post earthquake imagery using Google Earth, members were able to classify the extent of the damage done to each building in the region.
